RURK was not designed over a weekend. It has been developed for years and stress-tested across thousands of tabletop sessions. Now that engine has a proper home: a complete, searchable, offline command desk for Windows and Android.

THE SYSTEM

RURK is a percentile, skill-driven role-playing system. Every meaningful action uses the same transparent language: determine your ZPN, roll d100, and roll equal to or under the target.

But ZPN is not just “your skill.” It is the arithmetic mean of the trained skill and every attribute that the action actually demands.

Pistols & SMGs = Coordination + Speed + Perception + the weapon skill.

Sniper Weapons = Spirit + Intelligence + Coordination + Perception + the skill.

Lockpicking = Coordination + Intelligence + Perception + the skill.

Strong hands cannot fully compensate for poor perception. Genius cannot make untrained fingers delicate. A veteran can still fail in darkness, rain, or under fire. One weak link matters—and characters feel like people rather than optimised job titles.

Of RURK's 124 skills, 82 depend on three or more attributes. Few percentile systems go this far. Specialists remain genuinely distinct without being hammered into rigid classes.

All eight attributes and skills share one 1–100 scale. Character creation gives you 460 attribute points, so excellence has a price. Situational difficulty modifies the odds directly. Critical successes, partial outcomes and catastrophic failures remain readable at the table.

COMBAT HAPPENS AT ONCE

RURK combat is synchronous. Each five-second round is programmed in secret, then every action resolves together. Initiative is an interrupt, not a queue. Bullets do not politely wait for turns.

Hit location, armour coverage, penetration, weapon material, shock, courage, wounds, stamina and action points matter. Yet everything stays on the same d100 scale. You spend attention on decisions—not hunting for another die.
